Don't Jump to Conclusions

Its been like a year since my last post, I am very sorry for that.

my reason for the "No blogpost for a year" is well I've been busy with my studies, and for some reason words seemed to have left my mind...

But for today fortunately, I think everything is coming back to me.

Going back to my blog for today, We'll going to explore the idiom "Don't Jump to Conclusions", I have heard this idiom before while we're watching the Test your Brain on National Geographic, and ever since then this certain idiom didn't left my mind.

And today when I got home from school, I have mentioned this idiom to one of my friends because of some things we've been talking about this past few weeks. Well the only word that I can say about this idiom is "helpful" Because it taught me not to make any conclusion based on what I know, see, or hear, because sometimes the things that we know is only a part of completely another whole thing.

According to http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com, Jumping to conclusion is to judge or decide something without having all the facts. Now we know why we should not jump to any conclusions because we don't know the whole thing.

Let me give you a certain simple scenario where you can apply this idiom "Don't Jump to Conclusions"

Let's just say I have this classmate, and for the whole semester the only 3 words that I have heard from him is yes/no/maybe. And because of this, I have concluded that he is a freak, forever alone type of person. And then one day I saw this classmate of mine eating in a restaurant with his friends, and from afar I could see that  he is laughing, and happily chatting with his friends, and now I wonder what the hell happened right? because base on what I know, he is not that sociable/approachable type of guy and yet he has friends. Real friends.

And because of what I saw on the restaurant, I told myself on how foolish am I to name him as a freak or forever alone guy.

Well base on my example, because I quickly jumped to conclusion that he is freak/forever alone guy, I missed the maybe wonderful chance of being a friend with this classmate of mine. The only thing that I like to point out in this example and for this whole blog of mine for today is that when you jump to a conclusion, it is certain that regret will follow because you draw a conclusion based on what you only know without actually trying to get/know the whole thing. Because even though you know something about a person/thing it is also certain that there is much more to know and yet to be discovered about that person/thing. Which only means that we don't know everything.

And I do hoped that I made my point clearly in this blog of mine for today.

Lesson learned guys.. Don't Jump to Conclusions

Happy Blogging :)

Prolific Products ---- Soon!

It is a working progress I should say, just like any other things, we encounter difficulties or challenges.
I should say some of the great things in life doesn't come that easily.

It is called prolific products because the following products that you will see on my blog this next few days will be out of the pure imagination of me off course, well I should say it has been my long dream to do something that I always cared about. Art.

Let me tell you a short story. Today, Jinky and I went to Divisoria (a lovely place) to buy some of the raw materials needed for the prolific products. And honestly it is not that easy, especially when we don't know every street or corner of that place. We are newbies.

Since this is only a short story, at the end of day, we have everything that we needed, and I thank God for that. Even if we could feel the heat that morning and all through out the day, we did not stop looking for the appropriate materials. I admit, Jinky is the best when it comes to planning things, and I also raise my hands up and say sharing ideas with someone is the best learning experience ever. It is amazing to think of what the other person has on her mind.

Again thank you so much Jinky for making me experience all of this things.

I will be positive about all this things I had today, because it is not everyday that you got a chance to face all of this trials and opportunities.

So for my friends, and wonderful readers out there. Watch out for the Prolific Products that will be featured on this blog soon!...

I am excited for this.

Happy Day! :)

Vegetarians ---- hell yeah!

I know its summer and this topic is kinda inappropriate for this time of the year. But what can I say everyone can be a vegetarian whenever and wherever they want.

So why am Iwriting about vegetarians? Am I considering the urge to be a vegetarian? Is my boyfriend/friend a vegetarian? It is silly but nope.... it's just that today I saw this brochure about vegetarians on my study table. It is kinda unusual to see this sort of brochure on my table but if it wasn't there, then obviously we'll be talking about something else HAHA

Ok let's get down to business

First of all what is this vegetarianism??

According to wickipedia.org, it is the practice of subsisting on a diet composed primarily of wholly of vegetables, grains, fruits, nuts, and seeds, with or without eggs and dairy products.

There is also different variety of vegetarianism

  • Ovo vegetarianism includes eggs but not dairy products.
  • Lacto vegetarianism includes dairy products but not eggs.
  • Ovo-lacto vegetarianism (or lacto-ovo vegetarianism) includes animal/dairy products such as eggs, milk, and honey.
  • Veganism excludes all animal flesh and animal products, including milk, honey, and eggs, and may also exclude any products tested on animals, or any clothing from animals.
  • Raw veganism includes only fresh and uncooked fruit, nuts, seeds, and vegetables. Vegetables can only be cooked up to a certain temperature.
  • Fruitarianism permits only fruit, nuts, seeds, and other plant matter that can be gathered without harming the plant.
  • Buddhist vegetarianism (also known as su vegetarianism) excludes all animal products as well as vegetables in the allium family (which have the characteristic aroma of onion and garlic): onion, garlic, scallions, leeks, or shallots.
  • Jain vegetarianism includes dairy but excludes eggs and honey, as well as root vegetables.
  • Macrobiotic diets consist mostly of whole grains and beans.

And what benefits can you get when you are a vegetarian
  •  lower body mass index
  • lower levels of cholestero
  • lower blood pressure
  • less incidence of heart disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, renal disease, metabolic syndrome, dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease and other disorders
However, vegetarians are more likely to be deficient in vitamin B12, leading to increased incidence of osteoporosis and depression.

This is my favorite part I should say; here is the list of vegetarian and vegan elite in America

Linus Pauling
Michael Jackson
  • Linus Pauling, he is an American Quantum Chemist and Biochemist; 1954 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and 1962 Noble Laureate in Peace for his campaign against above-ground nuclear testing.
  • Benjamin Franklin, he is an American author, journalist, scientist, inventor and statesman.
  • Thomas Edison, an American inventor, and businessman.
  • Steve Jobs, the founder and CEO of Apple Computer.
  • Ralph Waldo Emerson, he is an American author, poet and philosopher.
  • Mark Twain, an American writer.
  • Henry Ford, he is the founder of ford motors.
  • Michael Jackson, an American pop singer and songwriter, has won more music awards than any other artists.
  • Prince, American pop singer and songwriter.
  • Justin Timberlake, American pop singer.
  • Leonard Nimoy, American actor, director and producer.
  • Dustin Hoffman, American actor two-time Oscar winner; Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner.
  • Tobey Maguire, American actor, starred in many movies including “Spider-Man”

Honestly, I did not expect see some of the names on the list, but hey everyone can be a vegetarian.

There you have it, we can all go green this sizzling summer.

If you have any comments or suggestions feel free to post something.

Happy Blogging :)

Refreshments is all we need

Since its summer here in the Philippines, everybody is finding the suitable beach or resort to cool off the summer heat, while others are looking for the best refreshments that could quenched their thirst, because I have to admit it is really hot in here when the summer time kicks in.

As a student, summer is what we need to catch up with friends, feel the quiet morning without your mom shouting that you are already late for school (ok this is a joke, I love you mammy :) ); yep summer is the best time for us students. On the contrary, summer is also difficult for us students because before we can go out and have fun with our friends, we need some little money, and that's what is missing when summer vacation is in. No allowance, nuff said, but unless off course you can just simply asked for it. But it's not that easy for most of us including me.

Because we should save most of our allowances for the summer vacation, all of us need an alternative so we could still enjoy the things we want to do without hurting our budget.

I think almost a month ago, my friends and I came across to this little milk tea stall. Off course we all know that milk tea is sooo in today. And then I told myself it wouldn't hurt if I try this one, right?

The little milk tea stall is called Tea Concoction and you can find it on the lower ground of the Victory Mall, you can easily see it because it is near the exit of the mall.

What is concoction anyway? According to an online dictionary it simply means a mixture, so for all of us to understand; the milk tea stall that we have found that day sells different mixtures of tea, which sounds delicious and interesting right?

Tea Concoction also sells the legendary Wintermelon milk tea that you can also find on Gong Cha (another milk tea store). You can say that the Tea Concoction is a copy cat, but since we are talking about how to manage our allowance, Tea Concoction is just simply making milk tea available for everybody.

The milk tea of Tea Concoctions has the price range of 60 to 80 pesos, not bad at all if you are quenching for a milk tea right? Although they only have one size of serving unlike the other milk tea stores that we see on malls.

How about the quality of the product itself? Well for an affordable milk tea, it tastes good, although I haven’t tried all of their products, but the only thing I could say is that you won’t be wasting your money on this one I promise you.

There you have it guys, a single tip that could make your summer vacation a little bit colorful and cool all at the same time.

Happy summer J

Philippine National Artist -- Salute!!

Last wednesday I think, it was raining, pouring actually. My friends and I decided to go to our school library, and then we saw this exhibit I think?? anyway, I saw this huge and heavy book, it's not that thick but it is heavy because it's hardbound. Then off course curiosity kicks in then I start flipping through it's pages, I forgot the title of the book which is silly but the book talks about the Philippine National Artist named Napoleon Abueva.

I start searching through the internet again offcourse, because I have never heard his name before. I have found this information about him:
According to wickipedia.com Napoleon Isabelo Veloso-Abueva born on January 16, 1930 is popularly known as Napoleon Abuevo, he is a sculptor and he is entitled as "Father of Modern Philippine Sculpture". He is also the only boholano given the distinction as National Artist of the Philippines in the field of visual arts.

His nickame is billy (which is cute for some reason) and he has six other brothers and sisters. As a young boy he studied at Tagbilaran Elementary School, and later at University of Southern Philippines, Holy Name College, Rafael Palma College before making it as a sculptor.

in 1796 he was proclaimed as National Artist of the Philippines by President Ferdinand Marcos, he was the youngest recipient of the title at the age of 46

Kiss of Judas
Some of his major works include Kaganapan (1953), Kiss of Judas (1955), Thirty Pieces of Silver, The Transfiguration, Eternal Gardens Memorial Park (1979), UP Gateway (1967), Nine Muses (1994), UP Faculty Center, Sunburst (1994)-Peninsula Manila Hotel, the bronze figure of Teodoro M. Kalaw in front of National Library, and murals in marble at the National Heroes Shrine, Mt. Samat, Bataan. One masterpiece he dedicates to the Boholanos is the Sandugo or Blood Compact shrine in Bohol, Tagbilaran City, a landmark at the site of the first international treaty of friendship between Spaniardsand Filipinos. This is now a tourist attraction in Bohol province. This shrine is an expression of Abueva's awareness of his roots, and a manifestation of his artistic talents.

He is married to Cherry Abueva, a psychiatrist, and has three children, Amihan,Mulawin, and Duero. Before his stroke, he used to teach at the Industrial Design department of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts

Back to my story, while I was flipping through the pages the book, off course it shows some of his work and some quotes about being an artist specifically a sculptor. I saw this photo that can be seen at University of the Philippines, actually those sculptures for me was a sign or indicator that you are at the UP campus already, I was a bit shocked honestly when those sculptures were made with the help of Abuevo and other sculptors, never expected that actually.

does this ring a bell?
I'm sharing this to you guys because I'm not really expecting to know this kind of random stuff just by visiting our school library. Which tells us to visit the library more frequently and read books as well because you don't know what knowledge lies within its pages.

there you have it guys.

Happy reading! :)

Cath Kidston - C for Chic

Here it is guys...

Last December, I went out with my friends, you know did some catch up with each other, off course I'm a bit amused with the things that I have discovered, and my friends were terrified as well with what happened to our lives this past few years.

Since it was December then, expect that people has a money to spend in buying foods for noche buena, gifts for their friends, co-workers, etc., or maybe to buy something just for themselves. Which means my friends and I also has a money.  So when the day was about to end, my friend asked me if we can go to Greenhills because she wants to buy a new shoes, since I have no other things to do and it was too early for me to go home, I said yes.

Greenhills is a popular shopping mall here in the Philippines, it's the place where you can buy things with cheap amount, it's also known as place where you can buy class A (almost original) - known brands like long champ, Tory Burch, Cath Kidston, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc. ---- everything was there I think, but the only bag that captured my attention was the Cath Kidston, I have never heard of it before nor seen one before, so it's my first time to know that such bag existed.

I know it's a bit odd to know this product through a counterfeit of it, but at least Cath Kidston bags are now added to my wishlist, although I know was a just a dream to actually buy one. Back to my story,
It captured my attention because of it's unusual style, which I prefer by the way, and the color for each style of bag perfectly suites it. Off course I did my research, and according to the ever reliable wikipedia.com, Catherine Isabel Kidston A.K.A Cath Kidston is a british fashion designer, business woman, and author whose company Cath Kidston Limited sells home furnishings through shops, online and by mail order, and she is known for her nostalgic floral patterns.

You can visit their online store at http://www.cathkidston.co.uk/

The site contains their large collection of bags, accessories, fashion, home, fabric and wallpaper, and for kids. The prices of their item ranges to 8 euros -100 euros, price depends on the which item you are buying off course. I know it's a bit pricey for us,  but having one would definitely make you look 100x alluring, attractive, charismatic, elegant, enchanting, name it.

Cath Kidston stores can be found in the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, South korea, Taiwan and Thailand. -- which makes it more easier for us to reach them and finally buy yourself a Cath Kidston stuffs. XD

There you have it.

Happy Shopping :)

So much for reasons...Please bear with me guys... I promise I'll try my very best to post something tomorrow --- Honestly I'm already thinking about a suitable topic... O.-

Anyways... I guess I need to work on my time management...

Looking for some New Sounds

Have you ever heard of the game The Run: Need for Speed?? -- well shame on you if you don't because if you're tired of the old Need for Speed game play, this game would definitely suit you.

According to Wickipedia.com, Need for Speed: The Run is a racing video game, the 18th title in the long-running Need for Speed franchise, and developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. The Wii and 3DS versions were developed by Firebrand Games, the team behind Undercover and Nitro (both DS versions). It was released in North America on November 15, 2011 and November 18, 2011 in Europe. The game is described as an "illicit, high-stakes race across the country. The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination".

While my brother was playing it one time, and off course I was just seating beside him, you could also capture that adrenaline thingy if that's what you prefer to call it. And now I wonder what would happen if I was the one who is playing that wonderful game God knows where it came from. Besides from the new game play and awesome awesome graphics, this game also has a wonderful soundtrack which we will talk about for today.

Now if you ask me, what is a soundtrack? According to merriam-webster.com it is a track (as on a motion-picture film or television videotape) that carries the sound record, nuff said right?

The listed songs below can be heard all throughout the game:

  1. BRMC  -  Beat the Devil’s Tattoo
  2. Canned Heat  - On the Road Again
  3. Dan Auerbach - Heartbroken, In Disrepair
  4. Rival Sons  - Save Me
  5. The Black Angels – Better off Alone
  6. Unkle Feat. Nick Cave -  Take the Money and Run
  7. Ritmo Machine – La Calle
  8. MonstrO - Solar
  9. Donovan- Riki Tiki Tavi
  10. Endless Boogie - Empty Eye
  11. Gary Clark Jr. – Don’t Owe You A Thang
  12. Girls Against Boys – Bulletproof Cupid
  13. Black Keys - Lonely Boy
  14. Black Pistol Fire – Trigger On My Fire
  15. Brian Jonestown Massacre - The Way it Was
  16. Handsome Furs - Damage
  17. London Souls – the Sound
  18. Lykke Li - Get Some
  19. Mastodon - Curl Of The Burl
  20. Middle Class Rut - Alive or Dead
  21. Ministry - NWO
  22. Red Fang – Prehistoric Dog
  23. Reverend horton Heat – Big Red Rocket of Love
  24. Black Lips - The Lie
  25. Dead Weather - Treat me Like Your Mother

Now why did I say that this songs are different from all the other songs I have heard before, well the only simple reason I can say is that this 25 songs contains some country like feeling but at the same time you can also hear some modern mix in it.

I know we have different interpretation or tastes when it comes to music, I know that some of you guys doesn't like this type of music genre, but the only thing I can say is that this songs are worth listening to. Especially when you don't know what kind of mood you have like me.

I adore the song Lonely Boy by Black keys which can also be found on the soundtrack of The Run: Need for Speed.

Happy Listening guys! :)

Cheers!

The Return of THE Blogger

Sorry for the absence guys... I know no words can describe why is it that I have no recent post on my blog.

So, to start the year right, I know I'm almost 2 months late to say this... but at last I'm back to blogging again...I have to admit that there are times when I miss researching for some good stuffs that I'm blogging, and if you may ask, what brings me to blog again? well the simple answer I can come up with is because I have an inspiration. Well I know that's a bit common and sloppy reason for a writer/blogger, but what can I say, I'm inspired. So here I am again, you, reading my blog, me, writing something wonderful. The game is soo on.

At least I can make the world happy like 0.09% happy right??

Anyway.. Please do check my upcoming post for this year 2012.

Feel free to comment and suggest anything.

Cheers!
